08. The Local Findability Sheet

The Local Findability Sheet

What this run holds

  • Google Business Profile: not part of this audit - if you have one, work down the checklist below against it
  • Name, address and phone: not part of this audit - write your one canonical name, address and phone here, exactly as they should appear everywhere

The checklist

Google Business Profile

  • Primary category = the most specific match
  • Business name matches the legal name, no keyword stuffing
  • Phone is local and matches every directory
  • Reviews 50 or more, rating 4.5 or more, every review answered
  • Photos: logo 400px+, cover 1024x576+, ten more, refreshed monthly

NAP consistency (priority directories, fix in tier order)

1Apple Mapsto check
1Bing Placesto check
2The review and trade directories of your own country (UK: Yell, Thomson Local; US: Yelp, BBB, Angi)to check

Schema verdict

  • An online-only store: LocalBusiness schema does NOT apply — Organization (see the schema piece) is the correct entity block. Applying LocalBusiness to a shop with no walk-in location is schema misuse.
  • A service-area business: LocalBusiness/HomeAndConstructionBusiness + Service + FAQPage per location page.

Honest scope

Best fit for local/service customers. For a pure-online shop this sheet is a small add-on; for a plumber/HVAC/clinic it is a full sheet (GBP audit + directory table + review-response pack).
